THANKING A FEW GOOD MEN

Posted by Pay it Forward Ministries

This blog is written in gratitude for the relief effort, and the personal sacrifice given and made by the GHAS Strike Team during the flood relief process. Dealing with a multitude of people in our community and surrounding areas we heard nothing but praise for "this team" both in actions and words. They are men to be honored.

We where personally impressed with the question that was always asked by this team when we approached them-- "What can we do for you?"

The answer that always came to my mind was- "Look what you are doing for everyone, now we should be doing more to support you."

I was impressed with all the times they made themselves available to go above and beyond "their call of duty" They helped us unload trucks answered a multitude of questions, they addressed the needs of the members of our community, while still making themselves available for the next call that inevitably came.

On a personal note, the children in Henderson County who lives have been shaken and forever changed, they offered them emotional support, and dispalyed the ability to "heal" them without the children even being aware in some cases that was what they where doing.

Its hard to imagine if you have not been touched by this tradgedy, how long it had been, since any of us had heard them laugh or talk about something besides the tradgedy they had been forced to face.

From the ladies who brought them lunch, the children full of questions, the volunteers, the victims, and from the members of Henderson County who sang praises about all that they did, and for all others who have been touched personally by what they continue to do, we give our thanks. To The GHAS in Galasburg Illinois we give our thanks for the sacrifice of these good men in your town to help in our time of need.
